Grans on the Make - honeycomb patternhoneycomb

This stitch may look complicated, but the pattern is actually very easy to master. Perfect for cushions and blankets, it can by made using any type of yarn and needle size.

The pattern as written below is designed to make squares that can be stitched together almost seamlessly.

MATERIALS:

Yellow and brown / burnt orange yarn
Pair 4mm needles

METHOD:

Cast on a multiple of 8 sts

Row 1 (RS): Color A, knit.

Row 2: Colour B, K1, *SL2 purlwise, K6; rep from * to last 7 sts, SL2 knitwise, K5.

Row 3: Colour B, P5, *SL2 purlwise, P6; rep from * to last 3 sts, SL2 purlwise, P1.

Rows 4 to 7: Rep Rows 3 and 4 twice more,

Row 8: Colour A: knit all stitches.

Row 9: Colour A: knit.

Row 10: Colour B, K5, *SL2 purlwise, K6; rep from * to last 3 sts, SL2 knitwise, K1.

Row 11: Colour B, P1, *SL2 purlwise, P6; rep from * to last 7 sts, SL2 purlwise, P5.

Rows 12 to 15: Rep Rows 11 and 12 twice more.

Row 16: Colour A, Knit all stitches

Rep Rows 1 – 16 as required.
